The NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) provides a sound basis for
evaluating risks and hazards in any country, in any business. The
IGC covers the same topics as the National General Certificate but UK
legislation has been taken out.

The syllabus comprises 16 elements that are assessed with two examination
papers and a practical. |

| Distance Learning |
|
Course materials consisting of notes, coursework
and a text book are sent by courier. Students then complete the coursework and return to ATM for marking by post or email. |

|
Examinations
are held twice a year in September and March and can be taken at British
Council Offices overseas or by special arrangement at other establishments. The dates of the examinations in 2008 are given in the table. |

| Practical Assessment |
| The practical must be carried out in a workplace
under the supervision of a suitable supervisor. ATM Safety & Environment will liaise with the supervisor to ensure that the
workplace inspection is carried out properly and the written report completed
under examination conditions. The report is then sent to ATM Safety & Environment for marking. |

| In-company or group courses |
| Group courses by distance learning with tutorial support can be arranged on request for
either the National Certificate or the International Certificate. A local examination sitting (minimum number 8) can be arranged
at anytime of the year for these courses.
